7 things every clinic website must have

By the Plumo team · 23 October 2026 · 5 min read

Before a patient calls your clinic, they usually look you up. On their phone, in a minute or two, they decide whether to call you or the next clinic on the list. A good clinic website answers their questions quickly and makes the next step easy. These are the seven things it needs.

1. Clear doctor details

Patients want to know who they will see. For each doctor, show:

  • Name and photo.
  • Qualifications, for example BDS, MDS or MBBS, MD.
  • Registration details with the medical or dental council.
  • The days and times they are at the clinic.

Write it plainly. A clear list of qualifications builds more trust than big words.

2. Timings, including holidays

“Is the clinic open today?” is the most common question of all. Show your hours on the first screen or one tap away, and update them for festivals and holidays. Keep them the same as on your Google Business Profile, so patients never see two different answers.

3. The treatments you offer

List every treatment or service you provide, with a short, factual explanation of each: what it is, and who it is for. A patient searching for “root canal treatment in Solapur” or “physiotherapy for back pain” can only find you if your website mentions it.

Keep it simple and honest. Explain the treatment. Don't promise results.

4. Location and directions

Add your full address, a map, and a line or two on how to reach you: the nearest landmark, which floor, and whether there is parking. Many patients come from other parts of the city, or from nearby towns, for the first time.

5. An easy way to ask for an appointment

Make the next step obvious:

  • A Call button and a WhatsApp button that work with one tap on a phone.
  • A short appointment request form: name, phone number and preferred day. Nothing more.

Make sure requests reach someone who will reply the same day, on the phone, not in an email inbox nobody opens.

6. Answers to common questions

Every clinic gets the same questions again and again: Do I need an appointment? How long does the first visit take? Do you accept a certain insurance? Which documents should I bring?

Answer them on your website. Patients get answers at night, when your staff are not there. Your front desk gets fewer repeat calls. And clear answers also help Google, and AI assistants, understand what your clinic does.

7. Factual wording that follows the rules

Health advertising has rules. The medical and dental councils expect doctors to keep public information factual. In practice, that means:

  • No claims like “best dentist in the city” or “guaranteed results”.
  • No before-and-after photos promising outcomes.
  • No patient photos or patient details, ever.
  • Reviews only if they are real, and with permission. Linking to your Google reviews is the simple, honest way.

Following the rules also protects your reputation. Patients trust a clinic that is calm and clear.

Bonus: it must work well on a phone

Almost all of these visits happen on a phone. Check your website on your own phone:

  • Can you see the clinic name, what you do and the Call button without scrolling?
  • Does it open quickly on mobile data?
  • Is the text big enough to read without zooming?

If the answer to any of these is no, patients are probably leaving before they call.

Your quick checklist

  1. Doctor names, photos, qualifications and registration details.
  2. Timings, updated for holidays, matching Google.
  3. A short page or section for each treatment.
  4. Address, map and directions.
  5. Call, WhatsApp and a short appointment request form.
  6. Answers to common patient questions.
  7. Factual wording: no “best”, no promised results, no patient photos.
